My Vortex

Saturday, December 4, 2010

AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK TODAY, I NOTICED SO MANY BIRDS SOARING IN CIRCLES high in the sky. They would swoop and swirl round and round. I bet they were having fun. Swirling circles of birds here and there...to my left and to my right. It must be because it's windy. The birds are playing with the wind.

I parked my car and as I walked to the building, streams of leaves flowed around my feet, laughing as they raced through the parking lot. I giggled all the way to the door.

Swirling birds...happy leaves...something wonderful is born on this wind.

Oh. I thought I'd knock out that resume in an hour. I work on it for a while, take a break, come back and work on it, take a break. After seven hours, I've done what I could. I'll give it a rest and come back to it on Monday.

           ╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════╗
So you will be, so to speak, training your Vibration away from patterns of
resistance

and toward patterns of allowing, which will make it, over time, just natural for you
to find those better-feeling thoughts. When you find better-feeling thoughts and
when you release resistance, your natural Vibration rises; and when your natural
Vibration rises, you will have achieved a different and improved point of attraction.
And so, now, that different point of attraction brings you better-feeling things to
observe—and your life just gets better and better.   -- Abraham.  Excerpted from
Getting into the Vortex Guided Meditations CD & User Guide.

Back in the day, we would list what we did at work (tasks). Now I know they say to list accomplishments (I single-handedly reduced scrap by 87% and leaped tall buildings in a single bound). Hmmm. I'm a support person. I don't have a lot of those numbers.

I'm thinking that since this resume is for inside the company, it's not so critical that it meets all the new trends in resume writing.

I don't know. I'm going to trust that it's OK.

Maybe on Monday, I'll put together a short PowerPoint presentation to show some before and afters of some documents I've redeveloped.

I'm driving home and looks like a white funnel of clouds ahead of me. It looks like a vortex. It feels like it's for me, as if unseen forces are swirling energies above and around me, bringing more good things to me.

I look in the distance at green mountains. Between two mountains is a V-shaped cloud. Another vortex.

I look to my right and a smaller triangle of clouds shows itself.

I'm feeling this power flowing to and through me. I breathe it in. It feels good...and I look forward to the good things it will bring.

May you feel powerful today.

Warmly,

Catherine

Send Me Your Resume

Friday, December 3, 2010

My boss sent me a text message tonight after I left work:  If you have a resume, send it to me. Thx.

Resume? What resume? I haven't had a resume for 30 years.

I've just been relaxing into well being, getting into a good place emotionally/mentally/spiritually and I planned on writing that resume later.

Looks like the Universe has other plans...and is moving pretty fast. Yippee!

I think I'll go to my office for a couple hours on Saturday and write that resume.

Warmly,

Catherine

Scramblz ****

Friday, December 3, 2010

B ILL, SHAWNDA, STEVE (SHAWNDA'S HUBBY) AND I MET FOR OUR FIRST BREAKFAST Club Meeting at Scramblz...just another way we're trying to balance the stuff going on at work with more fun.

Scramblz is not the usual tired cafe serving a boring breakfast. This place if fun and they make everything fresh and from scratch, including their OJ and crepe batter. My friends arrived before I did, but I found them sitting on the school bus in the middle of the restaurant.

The menu looked like a morning newspaper and was packed with all kinds of yummy food. I ordered a fritatta filled with potatoes, peppers and and crunchy bits of smoky bacon, topped with mozz and feta cheeps, with a scoopful of marinara sauce. But that's not all; you get to choose 2 sides. For me, Half Grapefruit Brulee with a crunchy sweet topping over fat, sweet pink fruit segments and a delicate crepe lightly scented with lemon. All for $11.99. The portions are huge so it's really a bargain.

The waitress was as fun and fresh as the food.

I'll definitely go back there again.

Stop by sometime. Scramblz is at 5055 Almaden Expressway in San Jose. They're open Monday-Friday, 6:30 am - 2:30 pm and Saturday-Sunday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm. You can call them at 408-269-2900.

What's your fave brekkie spot?

Warmly,

Catherine

Tangled ****

I SAW "TANGLED," THE NEW WALT DISNEY ANIMATION ABOUT LONG-HAIRED RAPUNZEL locked away in a tower. She meets a cutie-pie bandit and ventures out into the world for the first time, discovering the world and solving an age old mystery. I loved the movie. It was so well done and much more than you'd expect from any cartoon. There's love and adventure, song and spirit. I won't spoil it for you, but the moment of the floating paper lanterns was magical. I'm tucking that image away with the others I keep whenever I want to think of something happy, like rainbows, hummingbirds, sunshine and sunflowers.

Let me know your favorite scene in the movie.

May magic surround you today.

Warmly,

Catherine

A Flow of Feelings

Friday, December 3, 2010

R EALIZATION. I PUT ON A NEW TOP TODAY; ONE I BOUGHT A YEAR AGO AND NEVER wore. It was long and black with small little flowers with an Asian flair. The fabric was silky, with tiny little puckers that reminded me of shibori (Japanese silk tie dye). Oh, the fabric was beautiful and I felt beautiful wearing it! There's something wonderful about wearing something new. The side slits flared as I walked, inspiring me to twirl around in a circle. As I drove to work, I felt the world looked especially beautiful today. I realized that I was seeing the world through my current "beautiful" filter. How I feel affects how I see the world. Aha! And how I feel flows out to every thing and everyone I interact with...so my good feelings are a gift to the world.

What feeling would you like to feel on purpose today?

May beauty surround you.

Catherine

This Moment Is Perfect

I LOOKED FOR MY HOLE OF BLUE SKY AGAINST THE CLOUDY BACKGROUND THIS morning as I drove to work. It is much bigger than it was yesterday. I'm happy. It means I'm allowing more into my life.

                                                                                      .:*~*:._.:*~*:.

As I drove to work, I thought, "I am surrounded by beauty and perfection." The trees, their changing colors, the air. And then for the next 30 minutes I thought, "this moment is perfect...and this moment is perfect...and this moment is perfect." It put me in a very good place.

May perfection surround you today.

Warmly,

Catherine

Possibilities

CLOUDS SPREAD ACROSS THE SKY LIKE FAT, FLUFFY MARSHMALLOWS,  EXCEPT FOR a little hole showing a patch of blue sky. As I was driving, I kept looking at that blue hole and looking at that blue hole. I reminded me of something. Hmmm. It reminds me of the little opening I am making  to allow good things to come to me. I'd like it to be bigger tomorrow because it'll show me I'm allowing even more into my life.

                                                                                      .:*~*:._.:*~*:.

WORK. Ron called me at work today. He recommended me to his manager for a position that doesn't exist yet. Wasn't that nice? And she's exactly the kind of manager I want to work for. In fact, her name floated up in my consciousness yesterday for some reason. That's when I decided I'd like to work for her. I'm not telling anyone because I don't want to hear how it's impossible, there are no job openings, there is no head count, there is no position, no one with my skills has ever worked there before, etc. I'm just going to sit here and quietly imagine it and create it and pretend it. In fact, I've been driving to her building for the last several mornings, parking in the lot and then imagining me walking into the building (because I work there), using my badge to get into another section of the building (because I work there), turning the corner and entering my office (because I work there). Sigh. Fun. I already know a couple people in that department & have done some work for them over the years & I adore them. Perfect! I'll keep you posted.

He also mentioned a couple other areas that may need someone with my skills. One area I am not so interested in because people would look at me more like an IRS agent. That wouldn't feel good and that's not who I am. But Ron asked me to be open about it. Deep breath in. Deep breath out. Funny, my manager said exactly the same words to me on Tuesday about a group across the street. Breathe in. Breathe out. OK. I'm open.

And then Ron mentioned a different group I'm not familiar with. And at this very moment in time, they are looking at training at a world-wide corporate level, to ensure it is common among sites, establishing competency, etc. Oooooo! All the things I'm real pushy about.

Wow. A week ago when I was handed my we-don't-need-you-any-more-white-envelope, job prospects looked hopeless. Now, a week and a half later, there may be four possibilities.

I believe the Universe conspires to assist me...and here is the evidence...and there'll be more.

This approach is so much better than immediately sending out resumes from a place of fear, anger and desperation.

Life just gets better and better.

May delicious possibilities surround you today.

Warmly,

Catherine
